Here are the five most common items people try to put in skip bins that aren't allowed.
1. Mattresses
This catches people out constantly. Mattresses are banned from nearly all skip bins because they can't be processed through standard waste sorting equipment. The springs get tangled in machinery, and the mixed materials (foam, fabric, steel, timber) make them expensive to handle.
